The Opportunity
Are you a strategic procurement professional with a passion for delivering value and driving innovation across capital and indirect spend? We’re looking for a Category Buyer – Capital to join our Group Procurement team at Samworth Brothers. This is a high-impact role focusing primarily on capital expenditure and indirect procurement, where you’ll lead vendor selection, contract negotiation, and strategic sourcing across our bakery operations and wider group in line with the business process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the implementation of the Business Capital Process and ensuring compliance with company policy
- Managing supplier relationships and contract negotiations to deliver best value
- Developing category strategies and identifying group-wide contracting opportunities
- Driving cost optimisation, risk management, and market intelligence
- Supporting responsible, ethical, and sustainable sourcing practices
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Production
The Ideal Candidate

- Experience with contracts, supplier management, and procurement systems
- Willingness to travel across the UK, with occasional overseas trips
