Based in Callington, Cornwall, this is a 12 Months Fixed Term Contract.
Are you looking to grow your finance career in a fast-paced, supportive environment? Our Finance Shared Services team plays a vital role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting across all business categories. We’re now looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our General Ledger team and support a portfolio of Samworth Brothers businesses. This role is perfect for someone who is working towards (or has achieved) an AAT qualification, has experience in finance, and enjoys problem-solving in a collaborative team environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver month-end activities for a defined set of Samworth Brothers businesses, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Prepare and post prepayments, accruals, and other required journals accurately.
- Coordinate and calculate intercompany recharges to support accurate cost allocation.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations for allocated accounts, ensuring audit-ready quality.
- Support ad hoc management accounting tasks and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Working towards or achieved an AAT qualification (apprenticeship routes considered).
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts environment.
- Strong Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and manipulate data confidently.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (desirable but not essential).
- A proactive, adaptable approach with strong teamwork and communication skills.
