The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 £ per year.
As an Area Manager you will lead the team to deliver work safely, on time and to the right standard. The role involves supporting people, helping them to develop and creating a positive working environment. Clear communications and good planning help keep performance on track, whilst practical problem solving ensures that the area runs smoothly each day. Collaboration with other teams is an important part of resolving issues, trialling new ideas and supporting customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Team Leaders and operatives on shift, building a motivated and engaged workforce.
- Deliver production targets (ATT), quality standards (QAS), and health & safety compliance.
- Take ownership of labour planning, productivity, and waste reduction.
- Drive performance through continuous improvement and KPI delivery.
- Monitor performance vs plan and take proactive action on variances.
- Coordinate labour on shift, including agency resource.
- Promote a safe working environment and champion H&S best practices.
- Support training, development, and coaching of your team.

- You are a resilient and credible leader with experience of coaching and developing teams in a chilled or high care food environment.
- You are confident in finding solutions, thinking ahead and making clear decisions under pressure.
- You understand food safety requirements and HACCP Level 3 and IOSH Standards.
- You have a solid grasp of production processes, KPIs and operational planning in a fast paced setting.
- You communicate well, build strong working relationships and manage performance in a fair and consistent way.
