About The Role

Are you looking to take the next step in payroll? As a Payroll Team Leader you will play a key role in ensuring all company payrolls are processed accurately, on time and in line with legislation and internal controls. Feel passionate about supporting and developing others? You will be supporting and motivating Payroll Administrators, to drive high-quality service delivery, and deputise for the Group Payroll Manager when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, process and manage weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with PAYE, NIC, HMRC submissions and all statutory payments.
  • Audit data quality and ensure all payroll documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Calculate and process holiday, sick and statutory payments, profit share, and pension deductions.
  • Reconcile and balance payroll control accounts weekly/monthly.
  • Provide accurate payroll figures and reports to Finance teams.
  • Support Payroll Administrators, setting priorities, ensuring quality, and modelling high standards of service.
  • Work alongside the other Payroll Team Leader to deputise for the Group Payroll Manager.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, standardisation and best practice across the centralised payroll function.

About You

  • Minimum 3 years payroll experience.
  • Minimum 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
  • CIPP desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with large or complex payroll structures preferred.
  • Familiarity with centralised payroll operation.
