Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will play a key role in delivering engineering excellence, driving continuous improvement, reducing downtime, and ensuring all maintenance activities support production requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong people leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about developing teams and improving performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and develop the engineering team to deliver outstanding performance.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company standards.
- Maximise engineering resources to support operational requirements.
- Drive a proactive maintenance culture through effective preventative maintenance planning.
- Analyse downtime trends, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage engineering KPIs and communicate performance across the business.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, customer requirements, BRC standards, and internal procedures.
- Manage engineering budgets, labour costs, and contractor expenditure.

- You will have experience leading maintenance teams in a food manufacturing environment.
- Have experience of managing a team.
- Bringing strong technical understanding of plant, machinery and maintenance systems.
- You will have knowledge of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.
- Be able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of coaching, developing and motivating others is essential.
- HNC/HND (or higher) in an Engineering discipline.
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualification.
