We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join our team in Deli on a fixed-term contract until December 2027. This is a senior leadership role responsible for leading all aspects of food safety, quality, compliance and legality within a fast-paced chilled food manufacturing environment. You will play a critical role in maintaining the site's technical integrity, developing technical capability and ensuring the highest standards are consistently achieved across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the site technical strategy, ensuring delivery of group, customer and category objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality, legal, customer and internal standards.
  • Develop and lead the technical team through effective coaching, training, succession planning and performance management.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, retailers and external stakeholders while providing expert technical guidance across the site.
  • Drive continuous improvement through KPI management, risk assessment, audit programmes and root cause analysis.

  • HACCP Level 4 and Food Safety Level 4 qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of retailer standards, including Tesco TFS, BRC, M&S and Sainsbury's requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop and inspire technical teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong technical expertise and commercial awareness.
  • A passion for food safety, quality and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to influence at all levels internally and externally.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a commitment to developing others.
