Are you a results-driven leader with a passion for people, performance, and continuous improvement? At The Cornwall Bakery, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Department Manager (Packing) to lead and develop our packing operations across a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Packing Area Managers to deliver high performance across all shift patterns
  • Ensure consistent delivery of quality, safe, and compliant products in line with company standards
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, cost optimisation, and operational excellence
  • Manage all aspects of people processes including recruitment, training, performance management, and succession planning
  • Champion health, safety, and environmental best practices, ensuring a safe working environment for all

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in manufacturing operations within a food or FMCG environment
  • Strong line management background including performance management and team development
  • Hands-on experience with process improvement tools and techniques (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Working knowledge of food safety standards and compliance (HACCP/Food Safety Level 3 preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong analytical and communication skills
