Summary of Role
The Junior Project Manager (JPM) will be responsible for assisting in the planning, execution, and finalisation of a high profile project. This vacancy represents an excellent opportunity for somebody wishing to experience project delivery within strict deadlines, and to the scope required by the organisation. The JPM will work under the direct supervision of a Senior Project Manager focusing on supporting the project team and ensuring project goals are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning, tracking and reporting on key delivery milestones.
- Develop detailed project tasks, resource requirements, and schedules using appropriate tools.
- Help define success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle.
- Coordinate project team activities, manage task assignments, and track progress against the plan.
- Facilitate efficient communication between technical teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Schedule and minute project meetings (kick-offs, status updates, retrospectives).
- Track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short- and long-term goals.
- Assist in managing changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Identify potential project risks and work with the Senior PM to develop mitigation strategies.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
- Prepare and present status updates to stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Ensure all project artifacts are stored appropriately and accessible to the team.
Qualifications
- Education: Business Administration, Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a support role such as Project Coordinator, Administrator, or Business Analyst.
- Solid organisational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project management software.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage time effectively.
- Project Management certification (e.g., CAPM, PRINCE2 Foundation) is highly desirable.
Location and working pattern
- This is a full time role split between home and office working to suit the requirements of the organisation.
- Walsall based.
