We are seeking a fully qualified and motivated

Mechanical Engineer

to join our engineering team at the Old Brewery. Working across the entire brewery, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability, safety and efficiency of our plant machinery and production lines. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults, carrying out preventative maintenance and supporting the continuous operation of our production facilities.

Key responsibilities:

Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs and servicing of plant machinery and production lines throughout the brewery. Undertake fault finding, diagnosis and effective repair of mechanical equipment. Perform planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and maintain operational efficiency. Identify potential equipment issues and recommend improvements to reliability and performance. Source and order engineering parts, obtaining quotations for components, materials and external contract work. Liaise with suppliers and contractors to support maintenance and repair activities. Ensure all engineering work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant procedures and standards. Work collaboratively with production and engineering colleagues to support the smooth running of brewery operations.

Key Skills and Requirements:

Fully qualified Mechanical Engineer - ONC/HNC, BTEC or equivalent and completion of a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship. Ability to diagnose faults, identify root causes and carry out effective repairs. Supplier Management - ordering and obtaining quotes for parts and contract work. Previous experience maintaining production lines and industrial machinery. Takes a methodical approach to fault finding and preventative maintenance. Flexible approach to working hours and operational requirements. Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively. A strong team player with good communication skills.

Working Hours: This position operates on a two-shift rotation, Early Shift:

6.00am – 2.00pm (Mon to Fri) Late Shift:

2.00pm – 10.00pm (Mon to Thu) & 10.00am – 6.00pm (Fri)
