Up to £50k plus overtime plus bonus and package

Role overview:

This role involves the inspection, maintenance, installation, and testing of LV/HV substation equipment up to 33kV. Responsibilities include protection testing, HV/LV jointing, switchgear and transformer installation, earthing tests, and compiling work packages and safety documentation. The position also requires HV switching and permit issuing, coordination of technicians/subcontractors, and direct liaison with clients to ensure projects meet safety, technical, and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspection and Maintenance of LV/HV Substation equipment.
• Protection Testing.
• HV/LV jointing including specialist cable terminations.
• Troubleshooting/fault finding.
• Installation of switchgear and transformers.
• Testing of Earthing and associated equipment.
• Produce remedial works quotations.
• Compile Work Packages, Job Instructions and RAMS.
• Coordinating the work of technicians, craftspeople and sub-contractors.
• Manage individual project resource allocation.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders and other interested parties to ensure individual project objectives, deliverables and expectations are managed/maintained.
• Ensuring that individual projects meet safety requirements/regulations.
• Ensuring that individual projects meet technical system performance requirements.
• Planning and executing of HV Switching, isolation, earthing up to 33kV.
• Ensuring safety from the system – issuing of permits and safety documentation in accordance with company/customer safety rules and operational procedures.
• Testing installations and systems, analysing test data and compiling test reports.

Suitable candidate will ideally have:

1. HNC in Electrical Engineering ideally in Power Distribution, or the equivalent.
2. Experience in Private Networks and or the Renewable Energy sector.
3. Familiarity with all relevant current Health & Safety Legislations.
4. GWO Certifications for onshore wind farm work.
5. Emergency First Aid & Manual Handling
6. Full Clean Driving Licence
7. Good IT skills
