We're looking for an experienced EHV Estimator to join our growing Commercial team. This is a key role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys challenging the status quo, and is passionate about helping shape the future of power and infrastructure delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare tenders for projects ranging from 132kV to 400kV.
- Provide quotations for new connection works and turnkey projects, working with in-house teams and supply chain partners.
- Manage key client accounts, including top-level reviews and client meetings.
- Engage with manufacturers and suppliers to develop strategic partnerships and turnkey solutions.
- Follow up on quotations and share market feedback with the tendering and sales team.
- Attend site surveys, route walks, and tender interviews as required.
- Review client requirements, prepare quotations, and liaise with internal departments before final submission.
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor returns for compliance with tender documentation.
- Undertake take-offs from drawings and schedules and enter data into estimating software.
- Draft tender clarifications and exclusions.
- Support process development for the Estimating & Major Projects team.
- Maintain data integrity across business systems (SimPro and others).
Requirements & Experience
Essential:
- Qualification in engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of the electrical distribution sector (132kV- 400kV).
- Proven experience successfully tendering large-scale renewable and infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing complex, confidential commercial information.
- Full UK driving licence (maximum of 3 points).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to produce quality proposals with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint across multiple platforms.
Desirable:
- Experience with SimPro or similar estimating tools.
- Experience developing partnerships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Desire to mentor and train new team members as the business grows.
