The Opportunity
We are recruiting a Contracts Manager to join a well-established regional main contractor delivering refurbishment projects across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire.
This role is ideal for a Contracts Manager or experienced Project Manager looking for a long-term career move, with a clearly defined progression route to Senior Contracts Manager within 2 years, and onward development to Project Director / Divisional Director level.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple refurbishment projects, typically ranging from £500k to £5m in value.
Projects span a variety of sectors, including:
- Commercial
- Education
- Healthcare
- Leisure
- Industrial
- Public sector refurbishment
All works are refurbishment-focused (no new build residential).
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple live refurbishment projects concurrently
- Full project lifecycle delivery from pre-construction through to handover
- Programme, cost, quality, and H&S management
- Leading site teams, subcontractors, and consultants
- Client and stakeholder liaison
- Reporting to senior management
About You
To be considered, you must have:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Contracts Manager or Project Manager role
- A strong background delivering refurbishment projects for a main contractor
- Experience working on projects valued between £500k and £5m
- Exposure to live / occupied environments
- Experience across commercial, education, healthcare, or public-sector refurbishment
- A stable employment history and a desire to stay with a business long term
This role is particularly suited to someone towards the start or within the middle Contracts Management career who is ambitious and keen to progress into senior leadership.
