We are working with a leading groundworks, RC frame and civil engineering contractor who are looking to appoint a Project Quantity Surveyor due to continued growth and a strong secured pipeline of projects across London and the South East.
With turnover approaching £100m and further growth planned over the next financial year, this is an excellent opportunity to join a highly established contractor delivering major residential, mixed-use and infrastructure developments. The company has built a strong reputation within the market for delivering complex groundwork and concrete frame packages and is continuing to expand its commercial team to support future growth.
The Project Quantity Surveyor’s Role
As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for groundwork and infrastructure packages from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with the Commercial Director, Senior Quantity Surveyors, Operational teams and clients across a range of live projects. Projects typically include:
- Groundworks packages
- RC frame developments
- Roads & drainage
- Residential infrastructure
- Basements and enabling works
- Mixed-use and large residential schemes
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing subcontractor procurement and accounts
- Preparing and managing valuations
- Cost reporting and forecasting
- Variations management
- Final accounts
- Commercial management of live groundwork and infrastructure packages
- Liaising with clients, site teams and subcontractors
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Supporting project delivery teams throughout the construction lifecycle
The Project Quantity Surveyor
To be considered, you should have:
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Project QS within groundworks, RC frames or civil engineering
- Strong understanding of drainage, roads and infrastructure packages
- Experience managing projects commercially from start to finish
- Good contractual and commercial awareness
- Experience within residential or mixed-use developments
- Ability to manage multiple packages and priorities
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Degree qualified or equivalent preferred
- Ideally live within commuting distance of the office
