Are you an experienced Site Manager with a background in social housing refurbishment? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected main contractor delivering a major planned works and refurbishment framework across Croydon – with secured work through to March 2027 and likely extension beyond.
The Site Manager Role
As a Site Manager, you’ll play a key part in delivering external and internal refurbishment schemes across occupied housing stock within the borough. Working under a Contracts Manager, and supported by an Operations Manager and Ops Director, you’ll ensure smooth site delivery, quality compliance, and resident satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing day-to-day site activities across multiple refurbishment projects.
- Managing subcontractors, site teams, and H&S compliance.
- Conducting toolbox talks, RAMS reviews, and scaffold inspections.
- Liaising with residents, client representatives, and local authority teams.
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Requirements
- Proven experience in social housing refurbishment (internal / external, decent homes, or planned maintenance).
- A stable career history – not freelance or short-term roles.
- Previous employment with leading housing contractors.
- Strong communication and site coordination skills.
- Certifications: SMSTS, CSCS, Scaffold Inspection; First Aid desirable.
- Based in or near Croydon / South London, with good local area knowledge.
