An established and ambitious commercial construction contractor based in Shepperton is seeking a Contracts Manager with Quantity Surveying experience to join its leadership team. With an annual turnover of approximately £20m and a strong pipeline of secured work, the company delivers a diverse portfolio of projects across commercial, education, hospitality, residential and specialist refurbishment sectors.
As the business continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced commercial professional who can take ownership of projects from tender through to final account, working closely with the Directors and site teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic SME contractor where your expertise will directly influence project delivery and business growth.
The successful candidate will oversee multiple commercial construction projects from inception through to completion, combining strong commercial management with operational oversight. Working closely with Directors, Site Managers and subcontractors, you will play a key role in maintaining programme, managing costs and protecting the commercial interests of the business. Projects typically range across commercial refurbishments, education schemes, hospitality developments and high-end residential builds, with values generally up to £3m-£5m.
This role offers significant autonomy and visibility, with direct interaction with senior leadership and the opportunity to shape commercial processes within the business.
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience within commercial construction
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
- Experience managing projects from tender through to final account
- Background working with SME contractors or similar environments
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent client-facing and negotiation skills
- Strong commercial acumen and financial management ability
- Proven leadership across site teams and subcontractors
- SMSTS certification preferred
- Self-motivated, professional and confident communicator
