I am currently recruiting for an Operations Director to join a growing construction and development contractor based in North London. This business is experiencing strong growth, with turnover increasing from £10m to £20m over the next 2–3 years, delivering high-quality projects across residential, mixed-use and commercial fit-out sectors.
This contractor delivers a range of high-end residential developments, mixed-use schemes and commercial fit-out projects, typically up to £5m in value, across London. This is a key strategic hire, offering the opportunity to play a pivotal role in scaling the business, managing delivery teams, and driving operational performance.
As Operations Director, you will take full responsibility for the delivery function, overseeing multiple projects and managing a team of Project Managers and senior staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Leading the day-to-day operations of the construction business
- Managing and overseeing a team of Project Managers and site teams
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard
- Driving programme performance, quality and health & safety
- Working closely with Pre-Construction and Commercial teams
- Reporting directly to senior leadership and contributing to business strategy and growth
- Implementing and improving processes, systems and operational efficiencies
- Proven experience as an Operations Director / Construction Director / Operations Manager
- Strong background within a main contractor or developer
- Experience delivering residential, mixed-use and/or commercial fit-out projects
- Track record of managing multiple projects and delivery teams
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
- Experience working within Design & Build (D&B) environments
- Commercial awareness with the ability to support business growth and performance
- Salary: Up to £120,000 (DOE)
