What You’ll Be Doing (The Role)
- Prepare budgets and manage target costs to achieve agreed profit margins.
- Lead subcontractor procurement, managing packages to programme.
- Oversee valuations, applications for payment, claims, and final accounts.
- Manage client-side cost reporting and contractual correspondence.
- Prepare financial forecasts, monthly reconciliations, and commercial reports.
- Provide advice and input into value engineering exercises.
- Contribute to contractual claims and insurance reports.
- Support and, where required, mentor junior surveyors within the team.
About You
- Qualified in Quantity Surveying (HNC/D or degree level).
- Member of (or working towards membership of) a professional institute.
- Experienced in main contractor QS responsibilities across social housing schemes.
- Confident in using JCT, NEC, and ACA contracts.
- Excellent commercial, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills able to work effectively with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Proactive, detail-focused, and committed to continuous development.
