Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a well-established manufacturer of industrial automation and packaging machinery. This Field Service Engineer role will suit an electrically biased, multi-skilled engineer who enjoys fault finding and working on customer sites across a range of manufacturing environments. The successful Field Service Engineer can live anywhere in the UK.
Key aspects of the Field Service Engineer role include:
- Carrying out service, maintenance and fault finding on automated machinery across FMCG, food and automotive environments
- Performing testing and diagnostics to ensure equipment is fully operational before handover
- Delivering training to customers on operation and basic maintenance of machinery
- Completing preventative maintenance activities and installing retrofit upgrades
- Acting as the on-site representative of the business, building strong working relationships with customers
- Identifying opportunities for improvements, spare parts and ongoing service support
This role involves significant travel; around 95% of your time will be spent away from home, with approximately 75% of site work within the UK and the remainder overseas.
The ideal Field Service Engineer will have:
- Electrically biased but multi-skilled or mechatronics background; including controls, drives and fault finding
- Experience within manufacturing environments such as FMCG, food or automotive
- Exposure to industrial automation, packaging machinery or special purpose equipment
- Strong problem-solving ability and confidence working independently
- Clear communication skills and a professional approach on customer sites
- Full UK driving licence
