Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Senior Controls Engineer to join a rapidly growing Shropshire based systems integrator. As a Senior Controls Engineer, you'll be working on a wide range of projects, including but not limited to factory automation, automated warehouses, marine applications, renewables or systems for metal processing plants.
Key aspects of the Senior Controls Engineer position include:
- Software design, including Software Design Specifications and production of software deliverables for PLC, HMI, SCADA, robots or variable speed drives.
- Electrical / controls concept design including Functional Design Specification, Safety Requirements Specification, Single Line Diagram, Network Topology, Device Layout, Cause & Effect Matrix, Safety Block Diagram etc.
- Conduct FATs and SATs.
- Mentor Controls Engineers with less experience, offering guidance and support.
The role is hybrid, so when you're not working on customer sites the expectation is that you're in the office on Mondays, Wednesdays and another day of your choice, with the remaining two days being home-based. The role won't involve extended periods on site, as the company has a commissioning and installation team that handles the majority of site work. For example, the Senior Controls Engineer might expect to be on site for 2-3 weeks at the end of a job after being home and office based for 6 months.
The company promotes from within and has a clear career path for Senior Controls Engineers joining the team. They are innovators, pushing the boundaries of what's possible with existing and new technologies.
The position is commutable from Market Drayton, Telford, Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Newport. Because you only need to be in the office 3 days a week, it is also commutable from Stafford, Stone, Stoke, Walsall, Kidderminster, Lichfield, Cannock, Rugeley or Tamworth.
