Ambitious, growing company is recruiting for a Degree qualified Lead Hardware Engineer with experience of managing electrical engineers to work in the defence sector.
Key aspects of the Lead Hardware Engineer role include:
- Extensive hardware development experience with demonstrable experience of leading teams in a project environment.
- Oversee the activities of the team and help overcome problems by providing guidance, leadership and mentoring.
- Control panel design experience and background; checking and verifying teams' panel designs.
- Take charge of and lead project teams delivering electrical control systems, industrial software and electrical safety systems to customers in the defence sector.
- First class stakeholder engagement and management skills.
- Initiate, oversee and lead all engineering activities on a project or group of projects.
- Knowledge of working to ISO 9001 standards is key.
- A Principal Engineer working towards Chartered status will be supported and mentored.
- Must be a British passport holder and have lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years, as security clearance will be required.
- Comfortable working in the defence sector.
- The management team encourages a sensible work-life balance, promoting leaving the office by 4.30pm daily.
- Role will be based from the Stafford office (3 days per week) and home (2 days per week) with occasional day trips to customer sites.
Principal Engineer package:
- Up to 10% bonus.
- 30 days holiday + statutory Bank Holidays.
- Private healthcare includes family members after 6 months service.
- 6% pension contribution.
- 2 days a week from home (everyone works from home on Mondays and Fridays).
The clients' offices are easily commutable from Stoke, Stafford, Cannock, Lichfield, Telford, Uttoxeter, Stone.
