Senior Controls Engineer North Staffordshire Permanent System Integrator Hybrid/Home Working – £45-55k + overtime = £55-65k predicted earnings Samuel Frank Associates require a Senior Controls Engineer to join a well-established, growing and successful system automation & integration business in Staffordshire. The company is looking for an experienced automation specialist with a background in projects, design and commissioning. The successful Senior Controls Engineer will be responsible for providing front line system design for a wide range of industry sectors. The Senior Controls Engineer position involves system design, problem solving, modifying and specifying end client automation & control systems to exacting standards and timescales. Key aspects of the Senior Controls Engineer position include Successful Senior Controls Engineer will have experience of leading the software development of multiple projects ideally in material handling, conveyors, palletisers or baggage handling systems Creating and implementing procedures for software development and software releases Design, documentation, programming, testing, site installation, commissioning of PLC control/variable speed drive systems (Siemens TIA Portal) Customer support Mentoring junior engineers Almost all the systems that are developed and installed use Siemens TIA Portal PLCs Good understanding of communication networks Understanding and ability to configure SCADA systems; Siemens WinCC, Intouch, etc. Electrical understanding of the control system and how the system components interact.Ability to follow electrical schematics. Role will be very flexible in terms of working from home, flexible hours when working in the office etc. Some travel will be required both in the UK (and occasionally abroad). The client estimates 80% of the work will be based at their facility in Staffordshire (or from home) with the remaining 20% on customer sites. A typical project would see the Senior Controls Engineer work at home or the office for 7-8 weeks, then follow the work to site for 2-3 weeks. The position is based in North Staffordshire and is commutable from Stoke, Macclesfield, Winsford, Crewe, Congleton, Stafford, Nantwich, Leek and Sandbach.
