PLC Software Engineer – Greater Manchester – Process Industry – Β£44-50k + uplift for site work

A well-established, stable team with a switched-on, personable Team Manager and a full order book is seeking an experienced PLC Software Engineer to join their Greater Manchester-based special purpose machine manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Software design & development for control systems, including PLCs, field devices, HMIs, etc.
  • Ability to program from scratch on either Mitsubishi and/or Allen Bradley / Rockwell PLCs
  • Writing of control specification documents, FDS documents, FAT documents, operator manuals, etc.
  • Specifying controls hardware requirements – PLCs, remote I/O, fieldbus/hardware communications, HMIs, etc.
  • Full electrical commissioning of all developed systems on premises and on site

The company offers an uplift for time spent away from home, with additional pay for Saturday (x1.5) and Sunday (x2.0) work. The estimated split between office and site work is 70/30. The working hours are 37 hours per week, with a 2 pm finish on Fridays and flexible start and finish times.

The client\’s premises are commutable from Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Denton, Bolton, Bury, Blackburn, and Burnley.
