Samuel Frank is recruiting for an EC&I Design Engineer to join a well-established, growing engineering business operating within process-led industries. The role is predominantly office-based with very limited site work and would suit an EC&I Design Engineer who enjoys structured, collaborative working in a fast-paced environment.
Key aspects of the EC&I Design Engineer role include:
- Responsible for electrical, control and instrumentation design across a range of process-based projects.
- Produce key documentation including FDS, P&IDs and contribute to FAT/SAT activities.
- Very limited site work, with most of the role focused on design and development in-house.
- Strong emphasis on collaborative working, shared standards, consistent design approaches and continuous improvement across the team.
- Contribute to standardisation and modular design frameworks across the product range.
- Involvement in value engineering activities to improve efficiency, reduce cost and enhance system performance.
- Fast-paced environment with multiple projects running simultaneously.
- Experience in process control environments such as water treatment, chemical or food & beverage, pharmaceutical, nuclear or oil & gas environments.
Requirements for the EC&I Design Engineer role:

- Knowledge of UL directives would be advantageous.
- Ability to produce and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs and technical documentation.
- Experience contributing to functional design specifications and system design.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, structured engineering team.
