Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer with excellent PLC programming skills to join a Leeds based specialist engineering business on a staff basis. The role will suit an experienced person who has broad experience, can lead small projects, and help guide lesser experienced members of the team.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Knowledge & understanding of Siemens TIA Portal; experience of other PLC manufacturers will be considered (80% of the work is Siemens/20% Allen Bradley)
- Proven experience in PLC programming - Ladder, Structured Text and Function Blocks
- Experience in WinCC and HMI designs
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings; any experience of modifying existing electrical drawings would be useful
- Functional Safety and Safety PLC knowledge; SIL knowledge is nice to have
- Knowledge of Electrical controls legislation - essential
Site work will be mainly UK based with some international travel expected, roughly 1-2 months per year split over various trips as a good guide for expected time away. The role is office based when not working on site; the company is located in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The working week is 37 hours per week with flexible start/finish times, allowing for accrued hours Mon-Thur and finishing at lunchtimes on Fridays. A UK driving licence is essential.
