Samuel Frank Associates is recruiting for a PLC Software Engineer to join a well-established systems integrator with a strong pipeline of project work across the North West. This PLC Software Engineer role will suit an engineer with solid experience programming Rockwell and Siemens PLCs who enjoys working in a project-driven environment where delivery deadlines matter.

Responsibilities

  • Strong PLC programming experience using Rockwell (Allen Bradley) and Siemens PLC platforms - must be able to program from scratch and commission.
  • Ability to develop PLC software from scratch based on a Functional Design Specification (FDS).
  • Good knowledge of Safety code is expected as well as good HMI knowledge.
  • Projects could range from upgrading the safety code on a high-speed production line to the writing of Siemens or Allen Bradley PLC code for a full automotive manufacturing line.
  • Previous experience working in the automotive sector or on conveyor based systems such as materials handling, baggage handling or automated warehouses.
  • Experience delivering projects within a systems integrator, OEM or automation environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a project-driven environment with tight delivery deadlines.
  • Willingness to work weekends and Bank Holidays during key shutdown periods, which typically coincide with school holiday shutdowns - around 2-3 times per year there will be shutdown periods to cover outside of the North West. These tend to last 2-3 weeks.
  • Overtime is paid at flat rate Monday-Friday and x1.3 on Weekends.
  • Company will pay 45p/mile for any business mileage.
