Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Hardware Design Engineer, ideally with a solid background using the EPLAN design package to join the design office of a Shropshire based systems integrator. The successful Hardware Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and engineering of power systems, in particular industrial drive systems, power conversion and power generation applications.

Key aspects of the Hardware Design Engineer role include:

  • Electrical design (EPLAN preferred) including electrical schematics, control panel GAs, cable block diagrams, cable/termination schedules, bill of materials for use in various sectors including heavy industry.
  • Create functional specifications for systems and components such as motors, drives, switchboards, transformers, energy storage devices and cabling.
  • Detailed design studies and calculations.
  • Produce contract documentation packages.
  • Customer support, co-ordination, tendering and project handovers.
  • Experience of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical or other widely used packages who are interested in cross training to EPLAN.
  • Hardware Design Engineers with less experience, who have either qualified at Degree level or trained through another route and have 2-3 years experience are also welcomed to apply.

The position requires the successful candidate to work in Telford 3 days a week. The position is commutable from the following places: Market Drayton, Telford, Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Newport.
