Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Automation Controls Engineer to join a growing engineering company specialising in automated processing and packaging machinery. This role will suit someone who enjoys writing PLC software, solving technical problems and seeing projects through from concept to commissioning.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Designing and developing PLC control systems for bespoke automated machinery
  • Programming, testing and commissioning PLC, HMI and SCADA software
  • Supporting installation and commissioning activities both in-house and at customer sites (mainly remotely)
  • Modifying and upgrading existing machine control systems to improve performance and reliability
  • Providing PLC fault finding and remote technical support on existing installations
  • Working closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to deliver complete automation solutions
  • Producing functional design specifications and maintaining software documentation
