Samuel Frank is recruiting for an Installation Engineer to join a well-established engineering business based in South Yorkshire. Established in the mid-1990s, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering bespoke machinery and engineering solutions. The successful Installation Engineer will split their time approximately 50/50 between working at the company’s Doncaster facility and carrying out installation, testing and commissioning work at customer sites across the UK (and occasionally internationally). This Installation Engineer role would suit someone who enjoys variety. One day could involve assisting with PLC and HMI software testing, electrical fault finding and machine setup. The next could involve mechanical assembly support, factory testing or customer site work.
Key aspects of the Installation Engineer role include:
- Supporting PLC and HMI software testing, modifications and fault finding
- Assisting with electrical testing, panel checks and machine setup activities
- Working from electrical drawings to carry out wiring checks and fault diagnosis
- Supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities before equipment leaves the factory
- Carrying out commissioning and installation support work on customer sites throughout the UK
- Assisting with mechanical assembly, machine builds and general workshop activities when required
- Supporting machine testing, sensor checks, drive setup and safety circuit verification
- Taking ownership of build documentation, machine labelling and dispatch preparation
The successful Installation Engineer will ideally have experience of:
- PLC fault finding and software support
- Reading and understanding electrical schematics
- Electrical testing and machine commissioning
- Industrial machinery, automation or special purpose machinery environments
- Hands-on workshop, assembly or build support activities
The Installation Engineer role offers:
- Overtime expected to increase earnings by around 20%
