Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join a specialist engineering business supplying high-value, engineered solutions into industrial markets across the UK and beyond. The role will focus on new business initially, identifying new sectors, opening doors and converting opportunities into long-term customers. This position is ideal for a practitioner with experience selling a full engineered service in technical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically develop new customers in new markets, as well as re‑engaging legacy customers who have not been contacted for an extended period.
  • Work on a UK-wide basis, identifying and building relationships with potential clients.
  • Collaborate with technical and commercial teams to create tailored solutions across specialist hydraulics equipment, large industrial pumps, actuators, gas technologies and cooling systems.
  • Maintain a pipeline of technically led opportunities, build markets from the ground up and close complex deals.
  • Attend site meetings approximately two days per week while working from home most of the time.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience selling full engineered services, not just components.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills in technical environments; consultative approach with engineers and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to win complex work and build new vertical markets.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK; must be based in the UK.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: £55,000–£60,000 depending on experience.
  • Company car and bonus scheme.
  • Flexible work arrangement: approximately 3 days working from home, 2 days on site.
