Automation Engineer – Industrial Controls / PLC – West Yorkshire Based £42-50k basic + Uplift + Overtime = OTE £55-70k + 25 days holiday + training + access to company vehicle for site work Samuel Frank is recruiting for an Automation Engineer who has PLC fault-finding experience, to join a rapidly growing West Yorkshire based business. The company is big on training and development and because they’re small, the role will be diverse and offer the successful Automation Engineer a role with a wide variety of responsibilities and challenges. Key aspects of the Automation Engineer role include; * Previous PLC code interrogation experience (ideally with Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or Siemens PLCs) and understand PLC logic – Automation Engineer doesn’t need to be able to program PLCs from scratch but strong PLC code fault-finding is a must * Mainly office based with some in-person support for machine breakdowns on automated production line equipment, * Successful Automation Engineer will interrogate and fault find on a wide range of electrical equipment * For the normal day to day part of the role – expect to be on site 2-3 days per week, typically day trips as most customers are located in Yorkshire or Lancashire. * Out-of-hours roster for remote support – 1 in 4 weeks – uplift / overtime paid. (Currently Engineers average around 1.5 calls per week when on call) * Wide variety of work – servicing and carrying out breakdowns on equipment in a range of sectors, some cutting edge, some older legacy equipment, this Automation Engineer role will definitely keep you entertained! * Conduct inspections, testing and reporting of electrical systems * Because of the x1.25 overtime rates and the uplift for being on-call, an OTE of £55-70k is very realistic. * The company has made it very clear that they’re very keen on personal and professional development. The MD has previously worked for companies who said they were big on training but didn’t deliver and he’s very keen to make sure his business delivers on its promise of training & development. * Relaxed environment working for a small company that’s more than tripled its turnover, year on year over the last couple of years. * Ideally have an HNC/D in Electronic and Electrical Engineering (or related subject) * 18th Edition – nice to have/desirable * At least 3 years’ experience in an Automation Engineer role or similar * Full UK driving licence – essential * Must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship The company’s base is commutable from Leeds, Harrogate, Wetherby, York, Selby, Tadcaster, Otley, Garforth, Castleford and Knottingley.
