Position Summary
Why join our team? The Head of GVI (Galaxy Value Innovation) is responsible for managing residual value of the Samsung trade in devices, and handling the refurbishment process of returned products within the European market. This includes coordinating the entire refurbishment cycle, from receiving returned units to final inspection and resale. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of the electronics industry trends.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the trade in process, refurbishment process, ensuring maximum efficiency and profitability.
- Engage and influence the GVI operations in Subsidiaries, including Subsidiary Presidents, MX Head of Division as well as the cross functional Heads.
- Liaise with Suwon HQ GVI leadership regularly to ensure the GVI direction is fully implemented under Suwon HQ guided direction.
- Lead a virtual team responsible for inspecting, repairing, and testing returned products.
- Coordinate with Samsung HQ, Europe suppliers / distributors / vendors to ensure timely delivery of necessary parts and materials.
- Establish quality control measures and ensure compliance with Samsung guidelines, environmental and safety standards.
- Analyse market trends and consumer behaviour to identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
- Collaborate with GTM, marketing, sales and CX teams to develop effective end to end operations and launch plans for refurbished products.
- Prepare detailed reports and present findings to senior management.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and advancements in the electronics industry.

- Provide clarity on strategy, team purpose & value and define the key areas of focus and direction.
- Support the development of your team through regular mentoring, coaching and feedback, 1:1s and on the job learning opportunities.
- Role model inclusion for your team to build trust and psychological safety.
- Ensure communication with your team is a core focus area including cascade of information from LT’s and relevant business updates.
- Manage the onboarding, offboarding process and the entirety of the colleague lifecycle process for all team members.
- Manage all annual people management cycles such as goal setting, evaluation and salary reviews to a high quality and in a timely manner.
- To be accountable for ensuring your team are compliant with company processes and procedures; such as compliance, meeting mandatory business cyclical deadlines, and understanding the company values.
What we need for this role
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience in a similar role within the electronics industry.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
What does success look like?
- Validated experience handling trade-in / Refurbished channel operations and channel sales.
- Experience in Carrier, Retail or Distribution handling commercial relationships.
- Excellent contract negotiation and commercial skills.
- Broad experience of GTM, Channel Operations and leading direct and virtual teams.
- Experience working independently and managing tight deadlines.
- Involvement in developing strategic commercial programmes.
- Financial ownership of channel and/or account level P&L.
