Position Summary
The role is located in the Samsung Networks Europe’s (SNE) team of Mission Critical Solution delivery. SNE is determined to enter the Public Services domain in Europe with our market‑leading Mission Critical portfolio of products ranging from Device Clients, RAN, Core and MCPTX Application Services.
The Solution Director supports the Account Director in leading the Solution and Delivery teams and plays a critical role in SNE’s mission by owning the end‑to‑end technical solution, from customer engagement and solution definition through to delivery, test, and operational readiness. Acting as the senior technical authority and primary point of accountability, the Solution Director ensures alignment between customer needs, internal teams, and external partners, driving a cohesive and high‑quality outcome.

Role and Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Solution Managers and an Engineering Manager.
- Oversee development and lifecycle of the overall MCX solution across multiple domains.
- Support the Account Director in managing all aspects of the technical delivery and providing reporting and IA inputs as required.
- Provide leadership to the Engineering Manager and their team of test and support engineers, driving quality, delivery, and operational readiness.
- Own the end‑to‑end technical solution, ensuring all components integrate seamlessly across internal teams and external partners.
- Act as the primary technical interface to the customer, building strong relationships and ensuring expectations are clearly understood and met.
- Coordinate and govern technical delivery across multiple stakeholders, including third‑party vendors and integration partners.
- Drive solution design, validation, and acceptance, ensuring it meets business, functional, and non‑functional requirements.
- Oversee test strategy, defect management and support readiness to ensure a high‑quality, stable deployment.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, and issues across the full delivery lifecycle.
- Ensure clear communication, reporting and visibility of progress, risks and decisions to senior stakeholders.
- Champion continuous improvement in delivery practices, tools, and cross‑team collaboration.
What We Need for This Role
- Strong end‑to‑end understanding of 4G/5G Core technologies, including Voice/Video and Data services.
- Extensive experience in designing and delivering large‑scale, multi‑vendor telecom solutions, with integration across diverse partner ecosystems.
- Proven leadership in delivering Core Network Functions across virtualised and containerised architectures, setting technical direction without day‑to‑day detail involvement.
- Strong working knowledge of 3GPP standards and Mission Critical features, translating standards into practical, customer‑focused solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate multiple teams (solution, engineering, test, and support) to a common technical and delivery vision.
- Experience in customer‑facing senior roles, managing expectations and influencing decisions as the primary technical authority.
- Strong governance, risk management and decision‑making capabilities across complex delivery programmes involving internal teams and external partners.
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, engaging senior customer and partner leadership.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment while maintaining strategic oversight.
- Engineering degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecoms or a related field (or equivalent industrial experience).
- 15+ years of proven experience in the telecoms industry with significant leadership or senior technical roles.
- Aware of industry standards and compliance frameworks such as 3GPP, GSMA NESAS, Common Criteria and relevant security requirements.

- Establish effective governance across design, delivery and test activities, with clear visibility of progress, risks and dependencies, and proactive resolution of issues.
- Drive high‑quality, scalable solutions by guiding technical strategy, ensuring robust design and enabling teams to deliver against evolving customer and business needs.
