We are seeking a strategic and experienced Senior European Employee Relations and Policy Manager to lead complex employee relations (ER) initiatives, manage employee representative bodies, and drive the implementation of HR policies across Europe. As a key member of the European Office People Team (EOPT), you will play a pivotal role in supporting and guiding 19 People Teams across 35+ countries, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regional needs. Reporting to the Director of Talent Management for Europe, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and employee representatives to shape and execute strategic ER and HR policies.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Relationship Building: Establish and nurture strong, collaborative relationships with regional People Teams, fostering trust and alignment across the organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the European-level employee representative committee, EOPT, Suwon Office, European Employee Relations Office (EEO), Shared Service Centre, and regional People Teams to ensure cohesive ER strategies.
  • Legal and External Advisory: Own the relationship with external employment lawyers and consultants as needed, providing expert guidance on complex ER matters and ensuring compliance with local and international labour laws.
  • Investigations and Reporting: Lead investigations into regional ER issues, conduct interviews, prepare detailed reports, and educate People Team colleagues on ER and HR processes to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Take ownership of formulating regional HR policies tailored to subsidiary needs, proposing innovative solutions to ER cases, and driving the development of broader HR policies.
  • Case Management and Leadership: Oversee day-to-day ER casework across Europe, ensuring timely resolution and reporting to EOPT leadership for strategic decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with EOPT and subsidiary People Teams to design, propose, and implement new ER processes, ensuring continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Policy Change Management: Work closely with local People Teams to execute policy changes, ensuring seamless adoption and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Develop and manage a regional ER dashboard to track key metrics, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for strategic planning.
  • Trend Analysis and Recommendations: Proactively analyze regional and global ER trends to recommend improvements and implement impactful changes.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all regional HR policies, ER documents, contracts, and agreements remain current by conducting regular reviews in collaboration with Centers of Excellence (COEs) and adapting to legal or business changes.
  • Project Leadership: Lead assigned regional HR projects with a focus on ER, demonstrating initiative, leadership, and results-driven execution.
  • Audit and Compliance: Conduct ad-hoc audits to ensure adherence to ER and HR policies, maintaining organizational integrity and compliance.
  • Grievance and Disciplinary Support: Manage regional grievance and disciplinary policies, providing expert support during processes where EOPT is involved.

  • Deep Expertise in Employee Relations and European HR Policies: A strategic mindset and a passion for Employee Relations, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of diverse European HR policies and the nuances of labor laws across multiple countries, are essential.
  • Leadership in ER and Policy Advisory: Proven ability to confidently liaise with and provide expert advice on ER and regional-level HR policy matters to local People Team members across Europe.
  • Specialized Knowledge in Employment Law: In-depth expertise in the employment law and ER practices of at least one key European country.
  • Understanding of HR and COE Models: A solid grasp of the broader HR and Center of Excellence (COE) models, emphasizing the importance of cross-team collaboration and alignment.
  • Results-Oriented Approach: Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and deliver measurable impact within the organization.
  • Proven Track Record in Complex ER Case Management: Extensive experience in coaching and managing complex ER cases.
  • ER Process Improvement: Ability to identify trends, anticipate challenges, and propose innovative solutions to enhance ER practices across the organization.
