Position Summary
Samsung AI Cambridge is a newly-established, ambitious independent research centre targeting "Human-Centric AI" to enrich peoples’ lives using AI technologies. To help power Samsung Corporate programmes in AI, SAIC in Cambridge is building teams with diverse skills in research, engineering and design. It collaborates closely with universities to meet the research ambitions of both the universities and of Samsung. Purpose of the IT Support Analyst:
SAIC urgently requires a 1st level IT Support Analyst to offer (front line) technical support to a growing AI research lab.
Role and Responsibilities
- Setup and configure Windows laptops
- Proxy troubleshooting and rule management (GUI)
- Troubleshooting Windows, Outlook, etc.
- Induction sessions for new starters
- Asset management (Service Desk Portal)
- Use of IT Helpdesk platform to log or respond to incidents/requests
- Account creation and management
- Samsung Security Tools management (NASCA, ESCORT)
- Write How-To articles for people FAQs on confluence
- Provide one-to-one assistance where required
- Proactive Incident investigation on affected systems
- Direct investigation of incident root cause and provide users with updates
- Coordinate with the Centre’s IT Engineer for testing changes on systems
- Ensure availability of IT stock to support the requirements of the Centre
Skills and Qualifications
Skills and experience required for the role
Essential:
- Windows OS / Linux OS
- Symantec Antivirus
- PC Installation and Setup
- PC troubleshooting, Windows and Linux in corporate environment
- AD (Basic)
- TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
- Firewall understanding
- Proxy understanding
Desirable:
- Linux sysadmin
- Bash scripting
- ITIL principles
- Computer Science background
- Experience/Interest in Machine Learning environment
