Position Summary
Why join our team? The Display team sits within the CE division and covers four key product categories - LED, LCD Monitor, Smart Signage LFD and Hospitality TV (HTV). Samsung is a clear market leader in LFD, HTV and LED, and the business is focused on defending these #1 positions while re-establishing leadership in LCD Monitor. Hospitality is one of the division's most important growth engines: rising guest expectations, the shift to IP-based in-room systems and the convergence of Hospitality TV with digital signage are reshaping how UK hotels, resorts, F&B and leisure venues buy and deploy display technology. This role owns Samsung's response to that change - protecting and growing the core HTV business while building a new Hospitality digital signage and solutions business alongside it.
Role and Responsibilities
- Your key responsibilities reporting into the Head of Signage, the Hospitality Business Development Manager owns and delivers the HTV and Hospitality Digital Signage Management Plan. This aligns with market-share growth ambitions - defending Samsung's #1 HTV position while establishing Samsung as the leader in hospitality digital signage.
- As the lead Sales and Channel contributor for the Hospitality vertical, manage End User and Channel relationships to ensure a 'Samsung First' approach across both HTV and Digital Signage.
- This spans global multinational hotel chains, management and franchise groups and local independent 5* venues, as well as restaurants, bars, casinos, healthcare and leisure operators across the wider Hospitality ecosystem.
- Manage Sell In and Sell Out through Distribution and T2 partners for HTV, and adapt to the changing UK route-to-market as the channel shifts from traditional AV distribution towards specialist hospitality system integrators, IPTV and installation partners and solution resellers.
- Deliver YoY growth and increased market share in each segment.
- Manage the channel to achieve the Business Management Plan and market-share ambitions, with a clear focus on strategic Sell In and consistent, structured Sell Out.
- Recruit, enable and grow system integrators and solution partners who can position Samsung's full hospitality display portfolio.
- Grow the Hospitality Digital Signage business by attaching LFD, LED, Micro LED and outdoor displays to hospitality projects - lobby and reception video walls, digital menu boards and F&B screens, wayfinding, meeting-and-events and back-of-house communication - moving the conversation from a single in-room TV to a whole-property display estate.
- Sell solutions, not just hardware.
- Lead with Samsung's software and cloud platforms - LYNK Cloud for centralised HTV management and in-room revenue, and Samsung VXT for cloud-native signage content management - together with SmartThings Pro, Google Cast / AirPlay and OTT integration to create differentiated, recurring-value guest experiences.
- Create new business by proactively hunting whitespace accounts and adjacent verticals (branded hotel groups, serviced apartments, student accommodation, casinos, cruise, healthcare and premium F&B).
- Build a qualified pipeline of HTV and signage opportunities and convert competitor estates to Samsung.
- Manage 3-4 direct partners at a day-to-day level, attending customer and integrator sites and working alongside their End User customers on live hospitality projects.
- Own the marketing and demand-generation plan with each partner and ensure sales activities and campaigns are confirmed and rolled out.
- Enable the business to achieve Sell In ambitions across both HTV and Hospitality signage categories.
- Manage daily commercial operations within the channel, e.g. deal registrations, project pricing and SKU promotions.
What we need for this role
- A strong commercial background, comfortable with stock, sales and margin metrics.
- Experience in Product or Category Management is an advantage, as is exposure to solution or project-based selling.
- A background in Hospitality, AV, Pro Display / digital signage, IT solutions or consumer electronics channels is beneficial - particularly experience selling through system integrators and distributors.
- A proactive 'hunter' mindset for new business creation: comfortable opening doors, qualifying opportunities and building pipeline in a market where the route-to-market is actively changing.
- The candidate will be a confident networker and presenter, able to build relationships from operator decision-makers through to installer and integrator engineers, and to take a broad commercial view when making decisions.
- The candidate will need strong experience with Microsoft Office, with particular proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in industry is essential with background of success in a previous role.
- Educated to degree level is desired.
What does success look like?
- The candidate needs to be highly self-motivated and pro-active in their approach to work.
- In a hospitality market that is shifting from RF to IP, from hardware to solutions and from TV-only to whole-property signage, planning for the future is as important as making day-to-day decisions in this role.
- Within your first 6-12 months in role you should have gained a strong grip on Samsung internal processes and a clear understanding of how both the HTV and Hospitality signage categories work.
- Within a year you should have produced a strategy presentation setting out your vision for the category - how we will protect and grow HTV, scale digital signage and win new business - and how we will achieve it.
- Success will be measured through market-share performance, retained consolidated profit, digital-signage attach rate and new-business pipeline converted within the Hospitality vertical.
- You will maintain a fully up-to-date Price List and Roadmap covering both HTV and Hospitality signage in order to keep the business organised.
- Review stock and promotions daily to protect strong stock and market-share metrics.
- Pushing the wider team to grow market share across both categories will be crucial to success on a daily basis.
