The Samsung TV Plus team is responsible for the service across 19 EMEA territories. We work very closely with colleagues across global Samsung teams to enhance product and content proposition!
Role and Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities
- Work alongside Samsung TV Plus teams to develop and deliver the content acquisition strategy, with the key aim to increase engagement in European territories.
- Prospect and coordinate potential content partners for licensing, ensuring the service attracts key broadcasters in each local market and PanEU. Secure commitments from partners to integrate with Samsung-owned and operated services.
- Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, financials; evaluating options and resolving internal priorities.
- Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
- Coordinate contract management across all European partners, ensuring standard processes are adopted across markets.
- Present to and collaborate with senior management on business trends linked to streaming services, including developing new services, features, and distribution channels.
- Guide pan-EU and local partnership engagement with the local Strategic Partnership Manager team to achieve business goals while considering each market\’s characteristics.
- Support & develop Pan EU and local Strategic Partnership Managers as needed to ensure understanding of all partner commercial deal elements.
- Provide solutions to overcome conflicts of interest between internal European teams, subsidiaries, and Samsung’s HQ.
Your key people management responsibilities
- Provide clarity on strategy, team purpose & value, and define key focus areas and direction.
- Support team development through mentoring, coaching, feedback, 1:1s, and on-the-job learning.
- Role model inclusion to build trust and psychological safety.
- Ensure effective communication within your team, including cascading information from leadership teams and relevant updates.
- Manage onboarding, offboarding, and the entire colleague lifecycle.
- Oversee annual management cycles such as goal setting, evaluations, and salary reviews, ensuring high quality and timeliness.
- Ensure team compliance with company processes, procedures, and values.
What we need for this role
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Extensive commercial experience in developing outreach strategies and building partner relationships in media and entertainment content businesses.
- Experience managing complex content partnership & commercial deals.
- Strong financial modelling skills and ability to operate in ambiguous situations with industry knowledge.
- Experience leading complex projects with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
- Deep understanding of digital media, advertising, and consumer electronics, especially AVOD services.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, presentation, and influence skills.
- Strong partner relationships with leading European media companies and MPVDs.
- Proven ability to craft and lead innovative, first-of-their-kind deals.
