Overview
Position: Sales Associate / Key Holder (24 hours per week)
Location: 55 Brompton Rd, London SW3 1DP
Availability: July / August 2025
Responsibilities
- Act as the leading force on the sales floor. Demonstrate product knowledge and manage the operations of the store. Run the store independently during non-peak times. Provide a positive customer experience as directed in the TUMI Selling Ceremony. Motivate the sales team to demonstrate The Difference. Develop new client relationships and interact with existing clients to increase sales. Attain monthly and quarterly sales and SPH goals. Build strong partnerships with co-workers and store management. Encourage a training and development culture with the store team. Ensure the training roadmap is completed by the team.
- Sales responsibilities: assist in training all associates on the TUMI Difference and TUMI Elite Moments; meet or exceed SPH goals; convey the importance of the TUMI Customer Experience; build client relationships through data capture and outreach using the Proximity clienteling app; contribute to attainment of sales goals and KPIs; demonstrate excellent customer service with strong product knowledge and positive client interaction; maintain productivity with downtime used for training, coaching, follow-up and feedback.
- Communication: report and communicate information concerning personnel, merchandise and operations to the Store Manager; stay business-aware and communicate store goals and challenges; participate in staff meetings to discuss sales steps, policy changes, merchandise, etc.; report merchandise status, best sellers, slow sellers and buying trends to the store manager; address customer service concerns and escalate issues when needed.
- Merchandising: participate in store merchandising to work independently; adapt Visual Merchandising Guidelines and meet deadlines for window and interior changes; merchandise the store to a high standard and train the team; implement correct usage of interior signage; ensure stock is well maintained and in good condition; train the team to recover and maintain Visual Merchandising standards.
- Human Resources: assist in orientation and training of new associates; coordinate daily activities of sales associates; support company philosophies and staff management; motivate the team with regular feedback; maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code; manage meal and break schedules; maintain high attendance and punctuality.
- Operations: open and close the store in the absence of the manager; maintain records and receipts; ensure cash registers balance daily; ensure name capture is attempted at every transaction; ensure price changes are ticketed accurately and timely; notify manager of damages and coordinate returns; process shipments within 24 hours; maintain housekeeping; maintain a safe and hazard-free environment and adhere to H&S policies.
- Customer Service: exemplify the TUMI Difference and TUMI Elite Moments; follow the Selling Ceremony; complete the TUMI University training roadmap; coordinate with Store Manager/Assistant Manager to close a sale or arrange special orders; clienteling and data capture to build ongoing client relationships; explain TUMI After Sales Service and Warranty; build and maintain client relationships via the TUMI App by Proximity; process basic sales transactions efficiently; foster a daily training culture; achieve goals for UPT through cross-selling; stay aware of the competitive environment.
- Loss Prevention: maintain inventory on the sales floor; provide feedback on stock levels; participate in weekly cycle counts; verify pricing at sale; ensure items are properly checked in and ticketed; report shoplifting or internal theft; control shrinkage through awareness and service; assist in inventory organization for seasonal or as-needed basis.
