We are recruiting on behalf of a global manufacturing organisation seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to join their high-performing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced production environment supporting a specialist materials manufacturing facility. The business operates internationally and supplies products into critical industrial markets, offering long-term stability and genuine career development.
The Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment, responding quickly to breakdowns, and driving continuous improvement across the site. The facility operates 24/7, and this role follows a continental shift pattern:
- 8:00am – 8:00pm (4 days on) 4 days off
- 8:00pm – 8:00am (4 nights on) 4 days off (Repeating rotation)
You will work on a wide range of production and process equipment, contributing to overall equipment effectiveness and minimising downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities
- Respond rapidly to breakdowns and perform effective electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and reduce downtime
- Maintain high equipment and safety standards in line with EH&S policies
- Accurately log maintenance activities within the CMMS system
- Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and implement corrective actions
- Liaise effectively with production teams, engineering colleagues, and external suppliers
- Identify and request spare parts as required
- Support and mentor apprentices where necessary
About You
We are looking for a proactive, hands-on engineer with strong diagnostic skills and a flexible approach.
Essential:
- Completed apprenticeship (or equivalent practical experience)
- Proven multi-skilled maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capability
- Ability to work across various machines and disciplines
Desirable:
- 18th Edition qualification
- Experience with DC drives and motors
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs
- Tool room equipment experience (lathe, milling machine, pillar drills, etc.)
