Our client is looking for an experienced Employee Relations professional to support a large, fast-paced, and unionised organisation with a busy and complex caseload. You’ll work directly with managers and staff to provide expert advice on a wide range of casework, including sickness absence, performance, conduct, and grievance matters. This role is largely on-site, with work spanning central offices and community-based locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing high-quality, timely advice and support on a range of employee relations issues including absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance, and complex investigations
  • Supporting and coaching managers to effectively manage casework and build people management capability
  • Leading and facilitating ER training sessions and manager briefings across the organisation
  • Promoting informal resolution approaches and guiding appropriate use of formal procedures
  • Contributing to change management, restructures, job evaluation panels, and consultation activity
  • Collaborating with internal partners including HR Business Partners, wellbeing teams, and legal advisers
  • Ensuring accurate case recording, monitoring of ER trends, and supporting data-driven decision making

Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements:

  • Experience working within the NHS is essential
  • Strong background in employee relations case management within large or unionised organisations
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law, policies, and best practice
  • Confident facilitator with experience delivering manager training or briefings
  • Proactive, solution-focused, and compassionate in approach
  • Able to adapt communication style to suit sensitive or complex situations
  • Comfortable working on-site across multiple locations
