We are currently seeking a Digital and Marketing Communications Officer to join a busy communications and engagement team within Sussex Police. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team, helping to deliver content, communications, and public engagement activity across a range of platforms. The successful candidate will work alongside another communications officer supporting senior leadership and the wider organisation with digital communications and engagement needs. This is a varied role within a fast-paced environment, reporting directly to the Head of Communications and Public Engagement.

- Location: Lewes, East Sussex
- Salary: £21.50 per hour
- Job Type: Full-time, fixed term contract with hybrid working available
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of digital communications and social media activity across multiple platforms
- Create engaging and informative content for online channels and public engagement campaigns
- Assist in promoting organisational campaigns, projects, and initiatives through digital media
- Attend events and engagement activities when required
- Work closely with the wider communications and engagement team to support ongoing projects
- Monitor and respond to digital communications where appropriate
- Ensure communications remain professional, accessible, and in line with organisational standards
- Support community engagement and help maintain a positive online presence across digital platforms
- Contribute creative ideas and content for future communications activity
Skills, Experience and Training Requirements
- Previous experience within digital communications, social media or marketing
- Qualified within marketing, communications, media or a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Creative, proactive and highly organised approach to work
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality content
- Previous experience within a public-sector, charity or similar organisation
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle would be preferred due to occasional travel requirements
