Our client is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their laboratory team based in Rye. This role is ideal for a detail-focused individual with a strong commitment to health & safety, quality, and accurate analytical work within a regulated laboratory environment.

- Job type: Full time, permanent
- Location: New Romney
- Working hours: 08:00 – 16:30 (Monday – Friday) or 07:00 – 15:30
- Structured laboratory environment with ongoing training
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine and non-routine quality control analysis
- Operate laboratory equipment including GC, GCMS, XRF, IC, bomb calorimetry, titrations, Karl Fischer and hydrometers
- Interpret results and ensure materials meet required specifications
- Sign off and dispatch materials to customers
- Authorise receipt of loads onto site
- Complete accurate data entry and maintain laboratory records
- Perform safety-critical testing in line with procedures
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and laboratory cleanliness
- Support wastewater management processes
- Communicate results clearly with internal departments
- Perform equipment calibrations and QC checks
- Identify and report non-conforming materials
- Support laboratory improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Promote health & safety and report near-miss incidents
Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements:
- Strong communication skills
- Computer literate, with experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
- SAP knowledge desirable but not essential
- Hardworking and reliable
- Ability to multi-task and manage workload effectively
