We are recruiting on behalf of a growing and forward-thinking business for a Business Development Executive to join their Specification Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and driven individual who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities, and engaging with key decision-makers. The successful business development executive will play a key role in developing new business opportunities, maintaining client engagement, and supporting the wider sales and marketing function.

Working closely with internal teams, you will help build and manage a strong sales pipeline through targeted outreach, relationship management, and meeting coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and engage with new prospects through phone calls, email, LinkedIn and other outreach methods
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
  • Arrange and coordinate one-to-one meetings with contractors, developers and technical stakeholders
  • Identify project opportunities and support the development of the sales pipeline
  • Manage meeting scheduling, confirmations and pre-meeting preparation
  • Follow up on leads generated through marketing campaigns and events
  • Support the coordination and management of client events and attendance
  • Maintain accurate CRM records including client interactions, meeting outcomes and prospect statuses
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to support business growth initiatives
  • Carry out focused outreach activities and lead follow-ups to maximise opportunities
  • Provide updates and reports on client activity and engagement
  • Support incoming calls and additional duties where required

Skills, Experience and Training Requirements

  • Previous experience within business development, sales, customer engagement, or appointment setting
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate records
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
