We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Accounts Assistant to join a growing finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in finance who is keen to learn, develop and build their career.

You will support the wider finance function with a range of accounting activities, maintaining accurate records and assisting with reconciliations, reporting and client accounting services. This position would suit someone who has started AAT Level 2 or Level 3 and has a passion for numbers and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain purchase and sales ledgers, including invoice processing and reconciliations.
  • Complete bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow monitoring.
  • Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Support month-end and year-end processes.
  • Assist with the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records of commission, fee income and other financial information.
  • Reconcile provider statements and income records.
  • Assist with the preparation of accounts and bookkeeping for a range of clients.
  • Liaise with clients and internal teams to obtain information and resolve queries.
  • Support regulatory and compliance reporting within required deadlines.
  • Maintain organised financial records and documentation.
  • Assist with audits, process improvements and wider finance projects.

Skills & Experience

  • Ideally studying towards, or having started, AAT Level 2 or Level 3.
  • Previous experience within an accounts, finance or bookkeeping role would be advantageous, but is not essential.
  • A genuine interest in accounting and a passion for working with numbers.
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good Excel skills and confidence using accounting software.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines.
  • Reliable, hardworking and committed to learning and personal development.
  • A willingness to take on new responsibilities and develop your skills.
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach.
