We are currently recruiting for a CAD Draughtsman to join a well-established design and product development team based in Farnham, Surrey.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, supporting the accurate digital documentation of an established product range.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models and 2D technical drawings, ensuring products are accurately documented for manufacturing, specification and internal use.
The role would suit someone with strong Solid Works and Excel experience, ideally with a background working with physical products such as furniture, lighting, engineering components or similar.

Key Responsibilities
- Create accurate 3D models and 2D technical drawings using Solid Works.
- Digitally model and document an established product catalogue.
- Produce detailed manufacturing, assembly, component and technical drawings.
- Create GA drawings and exploded views where required.
- Review existing drawings and update them to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Maintain organised drawing files, revisions and product data.
- Use Excel to manage drawing registers, product information and documentation tracking.
- Work closely with design and production teams to ensure drawings reflect correct specifications.
- Ensure drawings meet internal standards and are suitable for manufacturing and supplier communication.
- Translate existing physical products and older drawings into accurate, standardised digital models.
Skills, Experience & Training Requirements
Essential
- Strong working knowledge and practical experience using Solid Works for 3D modelling and technical drawings.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience producing detailed assembly drawings, including GA and exploded views.
- Experience working with physical products, components or similar manufactured products.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills, particularly when managing drawings, revisions and technical documentation.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with design and technical teams.
Desirable
- Experience managing product catalogues or large drawing libraries.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Experience within furniture, lighting, engineering, product design or a similar environment.
Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for a technically capable and detail-focused CAD Draughtsman who takes pride in producing accurate, well-organised technical documentation.
You will be confident using Solid Works, comfortable working with existing products and drawings, and able to translate physical products or legacy designs into clear, accurate digital models.
