We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation for a Spanish Speaking Credit Controller to join their finance team on a fixed-term contract basis. This is a key position focused on managing customer accounts across Mediterranean regions, ensuring timely collection of payments, reducing overdue balances, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The role requires a proactive and organised individual who can work independently, communicate effectively in both English and Spanish, and manage a busy workload in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments
  • Proactively chase overdue balances to reduce aged debt and minimise bad debt exposure
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customer and internal teams
  • Set up and amend customer accounts accurately within internal systems
  • Process customer payments, banking, and account adjustments
  • Administer and process Direct Debit files for European accounts
  • Prepare and issue customer statements, invoices, and credit notes
  • Review held orders and support credit decision processes
  • Investigate and resolve payment queries and account discrepancies
  • Liaise with customers regarding underpayments, overpayments, and remittance information

Required Experience

  • Previous experience within credit control, accounts receivable, or sales ledger
  • Fluent spoken and written Spanish and English
  • Proven track record of reducing overdue accounts and improving cash collection
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
  • Confident working independently or as part of a team
  • Good numerical and analytical skills
