Are you an experienced CNC professional looking to take the next step into a leadership position? We are recruiting for a CNC Team Leader to join a growing manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong CNC machining experience who enjoys supporting and developing a small team while remaining hands-on within production.
Working closely with the Shift Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring production targets, quality standards and health & safety requirements are consistently achieved. You'll also help drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the day-to-day running of the CNC work centre.
Location: Bexhill on Sea
Salary: £16.00 per hour
Job Type: 3 months with a possibility of going permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday – Rotating Shift Pattern
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a small CNC production team to achieve quality and productivity targets
- Operate, programme and maintain CNC machinery
- Ensure production processes are followed correctly and efficiently
- Carry out regular quality checks to ensure products meet specification
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the CNC department
- Troubleshoot process and production issues as they arise
- Maintain accurate documentation and production records
- Monitor tooling and consumable stock levels and maintain accurate records
- Communicate effectively with production teams and shift leadership
- Promote a safe, organised, and efficient working environment
Skills, Experience & Training Requirements:
- Previous experience operating CNC machinery is essential
- Experience with CNC routers or profiling machinery would be highly advantageous
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience within manufacturing would be beneficial
- Experience working with MRP, ERP or warehouse management systems
- Strong understanding of quality control processes
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and lead by example
- Experience working with composite materials would be advantageous
- Counterbalance forklift licence would be beneficial but is not essential
