Are you an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer looking for a new and exciting opportunity to join an established engineering business on a 6-month temporary contract? We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded quality professional to become part of a highly experienced team based in Alton. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supplier quality management, continuous improvement initiatives, and supplier development projects, ensuring products consistently meet the highest quality standards and customer expectations.

- Manage and improve supplier quality and compliance against company quality requirements.
- Conduct supplier quality system audits and support the approval and ongoing qualification of suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance through quality scorecards and drive improvements where required.
- Work with suppliers and internal teams on FAIRs, PPAPs, Certificates of Conformity, Material Certificates, Control Plans and PDIs.
- Investigate supplier non-conformances, failed PPAPs and quality deviations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and closed out.
- Lead and support root cause investigations and corrective actions, using methodologies such as 8D and A3.
- Participate in Material Review Board meetings and support the disposition of non-conforming materials.
- Support the introduction and qualification of new suppliers.
- Work with suppliers on continuous improvement projects, workshops and training.
- Review customer specifications, technical drawings and build procedures.
- Support internal teams in achieving SQDC performance targets.
- Ensure raw materials and supplier products meet required specifications and compliance standards.
- An Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar Supplier Quality/SQE position.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and Lead Auditor qualification.
- ISO auditing experience.
- Experience using quality improvement tools including APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA and Control Plans.
- Strong problem-solving experience using 8D, A3 or similar methodologies.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Experience working with and managing external fabricators/suppliers.
- Welding experience.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels.
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
