We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Production Scheduler to join our clients manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed production schedules to ensure optimal workflow, meet delivery deadlines, and maximize resource utilisation. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain processes, proficiency with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems such as SAP and Oracle, and excellent coordination skills. The Production Scheduler plays a vital role in aligning production activities with business objectives, supporting seamless operations, and fostering continuous improvement.
Duties
- Develop comprehensive production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and capacity constraints using ERP systems like SAP or Oracle.
- Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, quality assurance, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.
- Monitor production progress daily, identify potential delays or bottlenecks, and adjust schedules proactively to maintain delivery commitments.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including start and completion times, machine utilisation, and inventory movements.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to forecast demand and plan capacity accordingly.
- Generate reports on production status, efficiency metrics, and schedule adherence for management review.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analysing scheduling processes and recommending enhancements for efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Production Scheduler or in a similar role within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- Strong proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle; experience with other ERP or MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems is advantageous.
- In-depth understanding of supply chain management principles and manufacturing workflows.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly across departments and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of inventory management practices and capacity planning techniques.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and reporting functions to support decision-making.
