We are seeking an experienced CNC Laser Operator to set up, operate, and maintain CNC laser engraving and cutting machinery used in our production process. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience preparing CAD/laser cut files, and a background in plastic parts fabrication or machine shop operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Operate CNC laser engraving and cutting equipment, as well as supporting machinery, ensuring smooth production flow and assisting other operators as needed.
  • Setup & Parameter Tuning: Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs, configure machine parameters, set proper fixtures, adjust beam focal points, and establish stop locations for optimal performance.
  • File Preparation & CAD: Create and edit laser cut files from CAD drawings using CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator; lay out and array parts in laser software to optimize yield and speed.
  • File & Revision Management: Maintain laser files to guarantee matching revision levels at all times.
  • Inspection & Quality Control: Perform full dimensional inspections, detect defective materials, and report questionable conditions immediately.
  • Maintenance & Monitoring: Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machinery, monitor chiller system fill levels and process gas supplies, and report reordering thresholds.
  • General Machine Shop Support: Perform typical machine shop operations supporting the production and fabrication of plastic parts.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting/engraving equipment.
  • Familiarity with CAD formats and vector editing software (CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator).
  • Strong understanding of basic machine shop tools, parameters, and procedures.
  • Solid dimensional inspection and measurement skills.
