Sam Farrant and Sons are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join our FW Award winning, progressive family farming business in Herefordshire.
This is a varied, long-term position working across our beef and arable enterprises. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is confident around cattle and machinery, and would like to become an important part of the farm team.
The role includes:
- Cattle health, welfare and general stock work
- TMR feeding and calf feeding
- Bedding and scraping
- Weighing cattle, foot trimming and assisting with TB testing
- Tractor work including silaging, corn carting, bale hauling and cultivations
- Machinery servicing and maintenance
- Fencing, livestock housing and general farm maintenance
- Woodland and general farm work
- The package:
- £33,000-£37,000 salary, depending on working pattern
- Subsidised 3-bedroom farm cottage at £500/month
- Council Tax and water paid
- 30-32 days annual leave
- Every other weekend off, with options for 2, 2 or 3-day weekends
- Long-term position with salary progression for the right person
Normal working hours are 07:15-17:00, with some seasonal flexibility required during busy periods.
Previous agricultural experience and tractor driving ability would be preferred. The most important things to us are reliability, a good attitude and a genuine interest in farming and livestock.
